A great way to get  up to speed with avalanche safety

Put your community first this winter, by hosting a community avalanche and snow safety event!

The Live 2 Ride team is putting on a formal avalanche course in your region. While they are in your area they will be available for this 1 to 3 hour community level free seminar. The Live 2 Ride team is Niko Weis, one of Canada’s leading avalanche educators and Todd Eberts, professional mountain sledder and avalanche safety leader.

The seminar will provide an exciting update and awareness information designed for Sledders and backcountry riders. See the latest avalanche safety gear in action with live demos and how to instruction; including airbag packs, the latest 457 rescue transceivers, shovels, probes and survival gear.

Learn how to access and use the essential Risk Reduction tools from the Canadian Avalanche Association:

  • Trip planner an on line risk calculator
  • Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES)
  • Regional avalanche bulletins
  • Current and forecast weather products and instruction
  • What u see and feel out there affects your decisions (clear signs of unstable snow)
  • The Avaluator system ties it all together helping you make better decisions in the snow.

The latest information on sled triggering slides and recent incidents will also be reviewed. There will be a draw for prizes and equipment. There will be time for questions and answers and an opportunity following the show to talk to the team and check out the gear.

The parting message is: get the gear, take a course or take it again, choose the right time, right place and the right friends, so u can live 2 ride again!
